Are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie about to tie the knot? Pair 'building huge reception hall' behind chapel on their French estate
They had made a pact that they would not get hitched until gay marriage was legalised in the United States.
But Brad Pitt, 48, has since admitted his children with 36-year-old Angelina Jolie are begging him to buy their mother an engagement ring.
And now it seems Brad may have given in, and the pair could be set to finally tie the knot later this year.
Brad is believed to be building a huge reception hall behind a chapel on their £35million estate in the South of France.
Aerial images of the construction site show a large white building being erected next to the quaint chapel which is part of their Provence chateau.
It is believed that builders are working hard to have the venue ready for September.
The couple are also understood to have visited the site to check on progress over the weekend.
They were already in France to attend the Paris premiere of Angelina’s directorial debut In the Land of Blood and Honey on February 16.
The pair purchased the Miraval property but are yet to move in as the sprawling estate has already undergone a series of renovations.
Brad told The Hollywood Reporter last month: ‘We're getting a lot of pressure from the kids. It means something to them.'
And when his brood of six - Maddox, 10, Pax, 8, Zahara, 7, Shiloh, 5, and Knox and Vivienne, 3 - asked him to 'get mommy a ring,' Pitt said he acquiesced and said: 'Okay, I will! I will.'
However, despite his U-turn after saying they wouldn't wed until gay marriage was legal in all US states, he reiterated his support for that right.
'But to be in love with someone and be raising a family with someone and want to make that commitment and not be able to is ludicrous, just ludicrous.'
On the Ellen DeGeneres show in September, Brad told the host: 'I've said that we would not be getting married until everyone in this county has the right to get married.
'We live in this great country that is about freedom. It is defined by our freedom and equality and yet we allow this discrimination to go on everyday and that's not what we're about.
'That's not what makes us great. Until that is reversed. I just don't get it.'
Representatives for Brad and Angelina were unavailable for comment.
